Are you interested in working and living in one of the most beautiful settings possible?  We provide you with a pitch for the duration of your contract, but you'll need to have your own unit for accommodation. And as we're OPEN ALL YEAR there's plenty of opportunity to work through the seasons for the right candidate living and working on site, as a couple or single.

Job Description

Campsite Assistants 

Required Competencies: 

We are recruiting  multiple campsite assistants, and offering both full time or a part time roles depending on the requirements of the business.

This exciting and varied role may require the employee(s) to live on site and if this is the case a pitch will be provided but not the accommodation. 

The employee(s) will be expected to work in Reception front office, dealing with telephone calls and bookings, and also out on site – appropriate clothing (uniform) will be provided. 

Whilst in the office the employee will support reception duties and serve customers in the shop. Whilst working out on site the employee will support the maintenance of the grounds and facilities block. 

As we are OPEN ALL YEAR, there are various opportunities to work throughout all seasons. In all cases the following personal qualities are required:

Operational Duties

  • Ensuring site facilities, services and products are available, operational and maintained to a high standard and following all health and safety requirements.
  • Deals with the day-to-day challenges faced on a busy site without the need for constant supervision.
  • Follows all site systems and procedures.
  • Demonstrates a basic knowledge of DIY.
  • Undertakes all aspects of site operations including general upkeep of the site and minor repairs; ground care and grass cutting; inspection & minor maintenance; cleanliness of amenities, reception & service areas.

IT & Office Duties

  • Following the sites office and on-line systems and processes, to ensure consistency of administration.
  • Organise the reception layout and display of essential information.
  • Manages bookings over the telephone and face-to-face following the correct procedures.
  • Uses the Microsoft Office software packages: Outlook for writing & responding to emails; Word & Excel where needed.
  • Manages the check-in and check-out process.
  • Perform financial reconciliation duties e.g., daily/weekly cash reconciliation.
  • Maintains accurate information, records and files. 

Planning, Organisation & Flexibility

  • Planning and organising the job and flexibly accommodating priorities around the needs of the site and its customers, whilst following through on deadlines.
  • Plans ahead to ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Takes responsibility for own work to achieve quality results.
  • Shows flexibility in coping with multiple and changing priorities.
  • Makes timely and considered decisions.
  • Works to agreed schedules and rosters.
  • Meets deadlines and follows through on commitments.

Commercial Awareness

  • Building up a general knowledge of the business over time and uses this knowledge and experience to promote the site, its services and the wider community.
  • Takes pride in the site.
  • Identifies and acts upon opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Utilises opportunities to promote the site and local community.
  • Maintains a comprehensive range of tourist information.
